About Me

Who am I? Why should you care? What does this blog have to do with tea? Is your name really Ley? How do you even pronounce that? I’m sure these are the kinds of questions you’re asking yourself right now. And boy, do I have some answers for you.

My real name is Ashley, and I’m a girl with a dream. A dream to end my horrible, procrastinating ways and start crossing goals off a never-ending list that’s been collecting dust for YEARS. Years… Don’t believe me? Think I’m being dramatic? It took me two years to start this blog. You heard right, folks. I fretted and worried and put it off because I am a “Perfectionist Procrastinator.” Fancy title, eh? I have a crippling fear of failure and will put things off until I can completely control and perfect every aspect of my intended undertaking. I get myself all in a tizzy and can even give myself panic attacks. I honestly don’t know how my family puts up with me. I’m also a socially awkward introvert masquerading as a social butterfly. So to recap:

self-proclaimed hermit + debilitating, fear-fueled procrastination = blog

I’m sure that makes no sense, but that’s the story of my life. I hope by doing this I will get over my fears, be confident in my abilities and learn to be comfortable in my own skin (excuse the sappy moment, there had to be one).

So why should you care?

Truth is, you probably don’t need to. What’s another girl struggling to make it in the world? My aim here isn’t to be famous and make tons of money (because so many bloggers are just rolling in dough). This is my creative outlet and a way for me to have some accountability to just get things done. So help a girl out. Throw a tidbit of advice my way if you feel so inclined. If not, move along.

As for the tea thing, this blog has nothing to do with tea. Except maybe for the fact that  I drink it ALL THE TIME! I love the stuff. And I’m not picky. Although English Breakfast with sugar and a dash of cream is my current favorite. So sorry to all the tea enthusiasts eagerly perusing my archive for the history of tea or info about the latest flavors. This is not the place for you.

I already told you my real name, but you can just call me Ley. And it’s pronounced exactly like Lee. Just trying to keep it simple.

If you’re into other stats and all that jazz, here you go:

I’m a 25 year old creative writing major who works in a job not relevant to her field. I’m an absolute goofball trying really hard to be an adult, and failing. I love to organize. LOVE IT! I also love dogs, the color teal and Tom Hiddleston. He’s my only celeb crush. I don’t drink, but I don’t need to. Keep me up past 9 PM and you have a fully grown toddler on your hands. I used to be an artist, but I developed carpal tunnel and can’t draw anymore. Then I studied dancing, but got in a car accident that messed up my leg and made me hang up my dancing shoes for good. So I’ve landed comfortably in the writing field. And foregoing any horrendous finger disasters, this is where I’ll stay.

So brew yourself a nice cup of tea and watch as I attempt to get my life in motion.
